Crafting is fun for all ages and interests. This blog evolved from researching resources for friends and articles I write as a freelance writer. It is a place to share the information I discovered. Please feel free to leave comments and questions. I am always looking at new projects ideas for family and friends in areas of my own abilities and theirs. Crochet Train Set
I really did not think this was a project I could complete when I saw it in the June 2010 Crochet World. Finishing it and getting it on to my blog has been a great process. I am pleased I will have this to share as a gift.
This is likely the most challenging project I have taken on since I started crocheting. It also has required the most focus and determination to finish. I knew if I let myself get distracted with too many other projects, this project would not get finished. Unlike the small ami projects I am working on for Christmas, Halloween, and Thanksgiving, these were considerably larger and required more space to store the pieces while I worked on them and to hold on to the set until it was completed and I could photograph it. It needed to be completed as a set, photographed, and then stored until it is time to ship it in December.

Wow they look too cute! Makes me want to make a knit train set xD! I've come to the conclusion that I will never, ever be able to crochet worth a darn!
I would love to see a knit set and I would love to send Mom the pattern. A little over a year ago I set out to teach myself knitting and crocheting since I never learned either. Knitting had the edge until I learned to crochet in a circle which people tell me is odd. By then I realized the only knitting I was completing was dishcloths. Everything else was a disaster because I can never just fix a mistake I have to pull it out and start again. That is doable with a dishcloth, not so much with larger pieces. So most of my work it seems will be crochet.
Do you have the pattern for this? Can you share the pattern?
Stacey
As stated in the above blog post it comes from June 2010 Crochet World Magazine. Crochet World does offer a digital subscription which I believe does allow access to old magazines. You may also want to check your local library. Ours carries more than a year of back issues. Also, check with family, friends, and anyone else who may subscribe.
I am not cannot publish copywrited patterns. There are links to some free toy train patterns on the toy page.
