Hello Kitty
I participated in the ami swap at Crochetville and my partner wanted a Hello Kitty. I have never been a huge fan of Hello Kitty, but I have had a couple family members who are and I found Armina Ami Nal's patterns, which I love. My favorite is her Hello Kitty Witch. The basic Hello Kitty pattern is easy to follow and you can adapt the dress pattern as you wish.
In an effort to play with the dresses, I've changed two things. One, I'm working with lighter weight yarns. This provides me with a little more ability to add details and change the dresses. Do to the shortness of the toy the changes are still limited. Two, I've started working from the opened end instead of the closed end to add my clothing. The original pattern closes the opened end and then works the dress pattern into the stitches at the top. I experimented with doing the opposite this time and liked the results.
I made four kitties for the swap, which I will be posting this week. This one was in pink at the request of my swap partner. The rest are holiday themed.
