Crafting is fun for all ages and interests. This blog evolved from researching resources for friends and articles I write as a freelance writer. It is a place to share the information I discovered. Please feel free to leave comments and questions. I am always looking at new projects ideas for family and friends in areas of my own abilities and theirs. Turkey Leg Dishcloth
Still working on replenishing my holiday dishcloths. Today we have another free Yarnspirations pattern found here.
I still have their turkey one I made many years ago but I rather liked the texture on this one. It makes for a good cleaning experience.
This was made with Peaches and Cream yarn and an H hook. I used an off white yarn rather than the suggested Jute. My goal where ever possible is to use up the cotton I have on hand to reduce a stash I don't often use rather than to buy more random colors. I'm sure there will be that project that I can find a substitute color to make but my hope is that some of this yarn will be living in my kitchen and not my stash.

Pumpkitty Pie
I was searching for pie patterns to add to my Thanksgiving box when I ran into this cute little free pattern you can find here.
This was a great opportunity to work on using up the sport weight cotton I had left over from making the Halloween hot pads. I've since picked up some brown because I want to make some Thanksgiving hot pads adapting the pattern from the Halloween ones so I used some of that for the pie section.
We never had cats growing up but we had more than one incident with wild animals ending up in food left outside to cool off during holiday cooking. This pattern made me laugh as I was thinking of some of those incidents when I saw the kitty in the pie.
This calls for a 2.5 hook, I used my b hook and I was pleased with the outcome.

Thanksgiving Dishcloths
I didn't get a chance to photograph these dishcloths before using them, but again I still wanted to capture what I actually completed this year where I could. I found dishcloths were a great way to help me through my crochet slumps this year. When I couldn't focus on a complicated project I'd work on simple dishcloths. We always need them. As the holidays approached, I thought I'd try some themed dishcloths.
You can find the free pattern for the Pilgrim here.
The free turkey pattern is located here.
