16 Inch Baby Doll I Feel Pretty

Rotating through the baby dolls weekly seems to be creating a more balanced wardrobe among the dolls.

Next up is the I Feel Pretty Dress for the 16 Inch Baby doll.

Notes:

This was made with Herrschners Baby Worsted Stripes Pastel Rainbow and Worsted Peachy.

The dress and panties used an H hook. The hat used a g and f hook. The shoes need a J hook with the Herrschner's yarn.

Row 5 of the dress first dc is 9 not 8.

I add 3 rows for length for this doll.

The legs are formed in row 7 of the panties.

The hat uses a G and an f hook and I use 50 chains for the ties.

I've been using a snap to close this outfit after finishing the back rather than buttons.

16 Inch Baby Doll Linmary Dress

This one took me much longer than I expected as I kept making unexpected changes.

The dress set is a free Linmary Knits crochet pattern found here. The shoes are from one of Darski's sets found here. Notes:

I've made a number of notes on hook size over the years. This year with the exception of the shoes, everything required an e hook. I used an J hook for the shoes.

This pattern uses UK crochet terms and I have notes all over my pattern to remind myself not to use US crochet stitches as it is a whole different outfit.

Dress:

I added 5 additional rows and an additional contrast row to the bodice for length prior to adding the skirt. To help myself keep track I have notes on the pattern regarding the repeats as they are not written out and with multiple repeats and row changes for each repeat I lose track. I finished the neck and the arm holes decreasing both as I found them a bit big this time.

I do not crochet in the back stitches for the bodice. I tried it this year and frogged it as it was not a good look.

Hat:

I had to stick with the e hook for the entire hat. I tried the notes I had on the pattern but the hat was huge. I believe this is how the Our Generation Boy ended up with a sun hat last year for his swim trunks.

Lots to Love 14 Inch Baby Doll Capri Set

I've got an extensive collection of Amy Carrico's baby doll patterns that I've collected over the years. I loved the feeted outfits she makes and she has some of the only shoe patterns that seem to stay on the baby dolls.

I stumbled upon this one which is available for purchase on Ravelry here while finding a purchase link for another pattern. Every so often I find a pattern that I don't have of hers and this was one.

I'm always looking for something different for the Lots to Love 14 Inch Baby doll as many of my patterns are variations on a theme. The sweater and the hat reminded me of infant sets my Mom used to make years ago. Different techniques as hers were knitted but similiar style.

Notes:

I used the suggested e hook for all of the items. The pink I believe is a Herrschner's Baby sport yarn and the white is Baby Bernat Sport.

For my own notes I tried adding some cute buttons but I'd need larger button holes thus the smaller than normal buttons from my stash.

The hat fit as written without any challenges.

Other than perhaps making larger button holes the sweater also worked as written.

The T-strap on the shoe was a litle fudgey. I might leave this off next time. There is a picture of the shoes without the additional T.

The pants for some reason were the challenge. I tried going up hook size, adding stitches and nothing was working until I decided to add elastic and go back to my fall back style of pants. I crocheted over the elastic and then split with a chain 3 at the crotch for the legs. I reduced stitches to make the upper section and then the legs a more reasonable width as covering the elastic can create more stitches when you use a thinner yarn.

Part of the challenge for this doll is the velcro diaper and this brand of yarn. When the pants were too tight the yarn attached to the velcro. The elastic waist allowed me to get the pants on and off without challenge. I try where possible to make these outfits little hands friendly.

I really like the sweater and could see using it with other patterns. It works up quickly and is a nice addition to the donation. This hat fits suprisingly well. I sometimes find the hats are my Goldilocks problem too big or too small. These shoes are a variation on her standard shoes and other than the t-strap they are my favorite for this doll.

Lots to Love 10 Inch Baby Doll Sweetly Pants, Top, Shoes

This was made using Darski's free Sweetly pattern set for the Lots to Love 10 inch baby doll found here.

Notes:

I'm continuing my quest to finish off my skein of Lion Brand Baby Soft Dusty Lilac and I added Baby Bernat Baby Baby for the contrast.

Bonnet:

I used an e hook for the bonnet and added rows to make it long enough. It was a little wider than I'd hoped this year so I'd decrease before the face rows next time if it is loose.

I'd place the ties further out. They are too close to tie make them effective.

Shirt:

The shirt was made with a G hook and I followed directions as written.

Pants:

I've been playing with my own top down pants for this outfit for a while now.

Chain 44 and join.

HDC in each chain and join for a total of 8 rows.

Chain 3 ss into 22nd stitch and start first leg.

I didn't record number of legs for rows but I did decrease last row with sc around.

Last row made with sc chain 3 around.

Shoes:

I've been playing with her bootie pattern to make Mary Jane shoes to give the doll a variety of shoes.

Lil Cutesies Overalls

This is another pattern I purchased here for the Lil Cutesies doll and never got around to making.

You may wonder why purchase and without a specific project in mind. Well the annual donation stays fresher when I rotate projects around keeping me from becoming bored.

I've also learned to buy before pattern designers disappear. If you find a designer that speaks your crochet language and designs for the dolls you need acquiring those patterns over time can be a great strategy for developing a rotation of outfits.

When you notice a designer start moving platforms you sometimes move them to the top of the aquisition pile even if you don't get to all the patterns at once. My hope is if the designer gets enough business perhaps they will keep designing.

My habit has been to buy a pattern from a designer and test the style to see if we speak the same crochet language. Some people find this odd but there are some designers I rarely have issues reading and understand what they are thinking when they write a pattern and others that I surrender and move on to something more productive. Now I do make changes that I document frequently. These are usually do to my own personal guage issues, available yarn, etc. However, I generally find myself looking at a shirt for instance at the end of a session making a shirt rather than a new piece of modern art.

I've chased a few designers across platforms to acquire their doll libraries as I don't have unlimited doll funds. While I'd love to acquire everything they've designed for the dolls I donate it can take time. However, when I do have the chance to stock up I do and then we have binders of doll patterns I dive into to find the neglected/lost patterns I've acquired. Some years I have more time than others for the hunt. This year has been a good year for the neglected pattern catalog.

Notes:

I always need to remind myself when starting these patterns that these are written in UK not US crochet terms. The first bootie could have fit on of the American Girl dolls. In my own defense I was highly distracted at the time and once the bottom of the foot was done realized my mistake.

I used a 2.5mm hook for the outfit.

The White Yarn is Bernat Big Ball Sport Baby. The purple is Lion Brand Baby Soft Dusty Lilac. The flower is a unknown baby yarn brand of purple. I've been trying to attack orphan skeins in my stash. Over the years I've picked up different brands of baby yarns for the donation when they've been on sale to try. It might just be a bad skein but this was was thready at times. It had a hard time holding it together. I'd been going to use my Bernat Baby lavender but wanted to see if I could use this one up.

Shirt:

I only needed 4 rows for the sleeves before it became too long.

For my own notes the pattern suggests closing the shirt with ties. I used a snap. I find the ties get caught.

Overalls:

I would work fewer rows prior to splitting for legs as the overalls are a little long.

The straps required 31 chains in order to make it easy for a child to slide the overalls on and off.

The suggestion is snaps covered by buttons but this seemed overally complicated to me.

There is no flower pattern. I just copied the one I used for the Red Dress I posted about earlier in the week.

Lots to Love 14 Inch Baby Doll Baylees Bikini

It was time for the Lots to Love 14 Inch doll to enter the 2026 swimsuit challenge and I chose Amy Carrico's pattern as I'd had really good luck with it last year.

This year it fought me every step of the way so next year I might try Char's pattern that I also have for this doll instead. I do not currently have a link where you can buy this pattern as it is not listed for sale on her Raverly store.

This was made with Herschnerrs baby variegated and I believe Bernat baby yarn. I needed a g hook to get the items to fit.

If I make this again I would decrease the top less.

Lil Cutesies Moses Basket 2026

I mentioned earlier in the week that I'd finished off two categoies for donations this week.

The first was the night wear and the second is bassinets. I will not need a bassinet for Kits for Kids as the doll is a bit large for the project so all my bassinets are done until I start the 2027 items. Then again never say never. Every time I say never someone says could you...

I also said I was using up my on hand Homespun yarn. Yet for the Little Cutesie doll I tried a new color I've never used before.

I needed to make a minimum for shipping and decided to add some homespun to the order. When I went to check the site as I was writing this, turns out they no longer have Homespun. It does concern me as rumors are floating about the long term life of Homespun and if Lion Brand will be continuing to produce it as they've cancelled some of its off shoot lines. I would hate to see the yarn go but not suprising in the fiber market these days.

The blanket yarn I believe is Herschnerrs Worsted 4 that I've been trying to finish off.

This is made using a no longer available Moses Basket pattern from Annie Potter presents Sweet Baby Doll Layette. The blanket is part of Darski's BBL pattern set found here.

I went with a g hook with baby yarn for the Lots to Love 8 inch baby doll and it was smaller than I wanted. I used an I with the Herschnerrs Worsted and it was slightly big but I'd rather slightly big than slightly small. I'd suggest an H hook with the heavier yarn and an I with baby yarn next time.

Lots to Love 8 Inch Baby Doll Alice in Wonderland

I started an experiment last year that I never got to continue for the donation of trying to translate some of Sweet Silver Creation's 5" doll patterns to fit the Lots to Love 8" baby doll. My first attempt actually was a better fit for the Lil Cutesies doll.

It is a bitter sweet attempt this year as the remaining 8 inch baby dolls I do have will be finished off for Operation Shoebox unless I can find a viable substitute for this discontinued doll. I don't have a huge amount of room for these more detailed outfits so I'm likely going to have to see if these outfits will fit the Lil Cutesies doll to use these projects in the future.

Notes:

Having made the sailor dress last year and finding it was too big for the 8" doll I followed my notes to experiment with the Alice dress.

I calcualated making these dresses for the 8" doll during my last purchase of Premier Basix DK yarn. However, I forgot about black for the shoes so I used Hobby Lobby Sport from my stash. The original pattern for the smaller doll uses size 10 thread so this was all based on experiments from the sailor doll.

I had suggested I try an H hook but I found it was too small for the upper part of the dress so the first three rows are made with an I hook and after making the arm holes I switched to an H hook for the remainder of the dress.

Do to the different size of dolls and fiber I believe I only needed 11 rows for the skirt before working row 17.

I was able to follow the directions for the apron as written.

I used an e hook for the Apron sleeves and played a little with the location.

The back and collar were finished as written but I used a snap to close the back.

The headband required an e hook as well. With the heavier yarn the bow required a little bit of play to get it to form.

This is the first set of tights I've made with shoes for this size doll so I added a picture. I did have to play just a little with the joining to make the final stitch count but I found they worked well. Again these are designed for a smaller doll made with lighter fiber but I was pleased with the outcome.

Lots to Love 10 Inch Baby Doll Moses Basket

I set out to make this one for the Lil Cutesies doll but added too many extra rows to make it larger and the Lots to Love 10 inch baby doll now has its bassinet for the 2026 donation complete.

The pattern for the Moses basket comes from an Annie Potter Presents Sweet Baby Doll Layetter Pattern set that I can no longer get an active link to provide. The blanket is from Darski's BBL set found here.

Notes:

The bassinet is made with Premier Puzzle yarn. The blanket with left over baby yarn of unknown orign.

Note to self that the Lots to Love 8 inch doll needs a G hook for the blanket the 10 inch doll requires an I hook or the blanket is small.

I just need one more bassinet for the Lil Cutesies and these will be complete before my summer deadline.

Lots to Love 8 Inch Baby Doll Moses Basket

My goal is to complete all the bassinet/moses basket projects by the end of summer. I have two more to complete and that goal will be achieved.

This basket is made using Annie Potter Presents Sweet Baby Doll Layette. I haven't been able to find an active link for her patterns for a while now so I've stopped trying. Her pattern site pops up and then disappears. It is different from Annie's. The blanket is from Darski's BBL free pattern found here.

Notes:

The basket is made with Premier Puzzle Yarn and the blanket is part of my project to identify yarns that have been here a bit and need to become an actual project, Lion Brand Baby Soft dusty lilac. I like the texture of the yarn but a bit pale if I were thinking of buying it again.

The basket requires a H hook and the blanket a g.

I still have more of this shade of Premier but I found some green that also needs to go for the Lil Cutesie basket. I'm going to be starting it up for my travel bag and even trying to alternate some work on it in between other projects as I really want these done early in August.

16 inch Baby Doll A-Line Dress Part 2

This is the second A-line dress made from Margaret Funk's out of print Baby Doll Fashion's to Crochet for the second 16 inch baby doll being donated. The shoes are from a free Darski pattern set found here. The headband was something I experimented with on the first dress. It was made chaining the distance around the doll's head and doing a row of dc.

Notes:

This was made with Lion Brand Mint Ice Cream Yarn. I'm determined to use up more yarn on hand on projects that don't have specific yarn requirements. These two A-Line dress projects were a great chance to use up some yarn that I had intentions for at one point but have never used so it is time for them to become productive and move out.

The dress requires an I hook and the shoes a J hook with the lighter yarn.

I finish the back and around the front in sc closing the back with a snap.

16 Inch Baby Doll A-Line Dress

I feel very fortunate to have found a copy of the out of print newsprint Baby Doll Fashion's to Crochet by Margaret Funk. They've been several patterns that have expanded the donation wardrobe for the 16 inch Baby Dolls.

Notes:

This dress pattern is from that book. The shoes are from Darski's free Peachy Keen pattern found here. The headband was made chaining the distance around the doll's head and doing a row of dc. I tried experimenting with other options but it was all too bulky.

This is made with Lion Brand Ice Cream Yarn Grape and an I hook for the dress and the headband. The shoes require a J hook with the lighter yarn.

I finished the back and and the front with sc adding a snap to close. I also finished the arm holes with sc to make them a little smoother.

My plan is to make a second A-line dress for the second 16 inch baby donation doll soon. I made this dress previously in solid colors I like the striped yarns better.

16 Inch Baby Doll Summer Dress 2

This is the second summer dress for the second 16 Inch Baby Doll

It is clear since I make it frequently that this is one of my favorite patterns for the 16 inch baby dolls. It works up fairly quickly and I like the way it looks, the ease of getting it on and off, and the ability to make it with different yarns.

This comes from an out of print House of White Birches newsprint leaflet Baby Doll Fashions to Crochet by Margaret Funk. I have noticed this newsprint leaflet and a couple of the fashion doll leaflets popping up for sale if you decide it is something you wish to seek out. I'm on my second copy of this one, although I preserved what I could of the first copy after my now 3 year old puppy decided newsprint made for a delightful chew when he was just a baby himself.

The dress is a 16 inch doll pattern from this book. The hat is adapted from the Bell hat pattern for a 13 inch doll also from this book. The shoes are my go to free shoe pattern from Darski's Peachy Keen pattern found here.

Notes:

This outfit was made with Lion Brand Ice Cream yarn Parafait.

To get this to fit the JC 16 Inch Baby Doll I started with an E hook and repeated row 5 once. Thus rows 3-6 follow the original directions for 3-5 moving each row directions down one. For the original row 6 now row 7 that starts the skirt I moved to a D hook to decrease the skirt size as it was too large with the e hook.

I started the directions for the 13 inch Baby Doll Bell hat using an e hook and increased the rows prior to creating the brim to account for the larger 16 inch baby doll head.

Using lighter yarn for the shoes requires a J hook to get them to fit.

Lots to Love 10 Inch Baby Doll Swimsuit

The Lots to Love 10 inch Baby Doll was next on my swimsuit list.>

This is a Baby Steps pattern that includes directions for the Lots to Love 10 inch Doll. You can purchase the pattern here.

The version I have has a cover picture of the Baby Steps doll not the Lots to Love doll. I always add this because I find myself thinking there must be another pattern in my binder for this project and there is not.

Notes:

At one of Knit Picks sales I found their Curio size 3 thread and added to my color options. The main color of the suit is size 3 Curio pistachio. The contrast color is Lizbeth size 3 Pastel Petals.

I really like the green for this project.

I used an f hook for everything but the shoes which required an e hook.

Lizbeth was used for all the trims.

A note for future projects I'd consider not doing the trim between the ties next year. I liked the solid green but had made it with the trim previously so decided to go forward. In the future I might drop that trim.

I did finish the legs this year.

Lots to Love 14 Inch Baby Doll Sweetly Dress

Several years back I accidently made this too large for the Lots to Love 10 inch baby doll and it got added to the Lots to Love 14 Inch Baby doll's donation. It doesn't make every donation year but I do keep it in the rotation.

With the exception of the shoes this outfit is made using Darski's free Sweetly pattern found here. The shoes are from Amy Carrico's Spring Pattern which appears to be currently available on Ravelry here. Her patterns come and go so I link them when they are up. I love these shoes with socks for the 14" baby doll and frequently add them to other patterns.

Notes:

I didn't read my previous project notes and confused them with my written notes for the nightgown from this set.

I used Herrchners worsted and Ice Cream Yarn Meringue for the dress. The shoes were made with the Lemon and Bernat Baby Sport Big Ball White.

The dress required an H hook and I added rows for length. I also added the same chain trim to the bottom of the dress that is used on the sleeves.

I used the Lemon for the panties and played with the design as I usually do.

The shoes were made with the suggested e hook as written.

The bonnet belongs to another pattern in this set. It was made with an H hook and as it was a bit short I decided to play with some post stitches.

Lil Cutesies Swimsuit

I've been alternating week by week to finish off the swimsuits and the sleep wear. Up next is the Little Cutesies' swimsuit.

This outfit was made using one of Char Caywood's patterns that can be purchased here. The pattern includes directions for the Lil Cutesie doll and the Lots to Love 8 inch baby doll.

I use the swimsuit, visor, and sandals from this pattern. I do not include the coverup.

Notes:

This was made with Aunt Lydia size 10 a version of yellow and an unnamed multicolored. I suspect they aren't making it any longer as I looked at a couple of colors online and either there were colors that weren't in this thread or they didn't have all the colors in this thread.

I made a note last time I wish I had read before starting this time there are two visor patterns and the one for the Lil Cutesies is larger due to head size. Choose the Lil Cutesie visor pattern to start future projects. I noted it on the pattern as well this time so that should help.

I used a 1.75 mm hook.

In Row 16 of the bottoms part B I use hdc not sc.

Ruffle I hdc in row 17 not 16. For my own notes row 17 is worked around the complete doll in the back loops. This is the row the ruffle will be added to around the doll.

I do a sc around the legs.

The back is finished with sc as part of the chain process. I mention this because I had forgotten from making this last year. I usually will finish a back even when not in the pattern.

I chained 50 for the ties.

I noticed there is fluff from a previous project that I cleaned off before putting the outfit in the bag to be put in the Lil Cutesies sorting bag.

Lots to Love 10 Inch Baby Doll Sweetly

I was concerned about the availability of the Lots to Love 10" Baby Dolls after discovering the 8" dolls are no longer available.

I've struggled with the 10 inch dolls even longer often resorting to school supply sites to find them. I was pleasantly suprised to find them online this year not only at Amazon, but Walmart and Michaels. I stocked up as nothing is promised but I thought I'd put that out there for anyone else looking for the smaller baby dolls. Michaels' website says they are only available online.

This dress set was made using Darski's free Sweetly pattern found here. There are several patterns included and I use most of them for the donation.

Notes:

This outfit was made with Bernat Big Ball Sport yarn in Pink and Baby Baby.

From my previous notes I read the panties were long which resulted in needing a longer skirt for the dress to cover them so I started with the panties. I'd previously had trouble with the crotch but this time there was no problem. I just find these are long to fit over the tummy and then create the split for the legs. Followed as written they do create panties, but the skirt as written is still too short.

Having made the panties I decided to finish the other accessories before making the dress. Although, to be fair I redid one bootie and the bonnet on finishing the dress.

These adjustments to the booties work great, but you actually have to follow the complete directions or they fall off. I made the first one as written the second one I skipped rwo 7 and the bootie refused to stay on the doll's foot. I remade it after finishing the dress.

E hook

Complete row 1-3 of the booties.

Row 4: sc in back loops around

Row 5: sc evenly

Row 6: sc reducing 6 times at toe

Row 7: HDC evenly

Follow directions for 8-9

My notes say the bonnet fits as written and I have no idea how. So I'm revising my notes for this year. The bonnet as written is currently sitting on the Lots to Love 14 inch Doll for when I make this outfit for that doll's donation.

I used an E hook for the bonnet.

There was a good deal of adding and pulling out so I don't have a complete answer but I added rows after row 8 until the bonnet was big enough. Then I finished with row 9.

I used 40 chains for ties so this requires chaining 43.

I used the suggested G hook for the dress I'd consider an F for my next attempt as this felt roomy.

In the past I believe I reduced around the arms when adding trim and I did not do that this time. I would do that for future outfits.

I finish the back adding a button hole and later a buttton not following the written directions.

Lil Cutesies Mermaid

I have favorites over on Ravelry sorted by doll size or other categories. I generally keep them in those folders after I've purchased or downloaded the free patterns for a couple of reasons.

I go to the folders sometimes to get ideas about what to make next. Sometimes it reminds me of a pattern I already have either free or purchased.

In this case as I opened the small baby doll folder was I surprised to find I had stored a ravelry page of a Lil Cutesies Mermaid available to purchase that I had not yet bought. Since Mermaids have been on my radar I decided to add the pattern to my stash. You can purchase the pattern here.

Notes:

This project is made using Red Heart Unforgettable Candied Yarn and a J hook.

The pattern for the tail was easy to follow and I finished that without challenges.

I had a bit more of a challenge with the top. For my notes I would chain 15 not 20 based on how I decided to put the top together. 22 stitches required me to reduce the arms. Row 2 says turn. I missed this the first time and it forces you to start with a long chain but then begin working a short piece sideways with the chain hanging.

The directions were not clear but as the picture demonstrates below I chose to use the chains as armholes to keep the top on the doll. There were no clear directions for this but it worked for me.

The outfit slid down in the second picture a reason not to rush when trying to get blog pictures taken.

I tried making the headband as written and then decided to be kind to myself. I chained the distance I needed around for the headband and closed it finishing off ends. I then made the star and used the ends of the star to cover up where the headband had been joined.

I repeat what I said after making Skipper's mermaid costume. I love the colors of this yarn I hate how this yarn works. It is really hard to pull out and when you are trying to adapt and change items it is frustrating. It also has a tendency to shed and the fiber shedding is hard to remove before you crochet it into the piece.

Lil Cutesies Dress, Hat, and Shoes

I'm not quite as ahead preposting as I was but it is still nice to have a little edge of needing to get something finished and posted.

It is Wednesday as I prepost and I had a delightful experience helping to pack the Kits for Kids bags bags this morning. I was an honor to watch this sophmore kids demonstrate what they are capable of doing with supports in place. They organized supplies to pack 120 kits and having been to different but similiar events I was amazed at how well they had it all ready to go.

I had hoped by going to learn more about what I could offer that would be useful and I have two plans. One is to collect school supplies in the fall to drop off with my Aztec Wishes donation so they will have it for their Spring packing party. Anytime you need school supplies the back to school sales are the best time to get name brands at really cheap prices.

The second is about what to make. I will drop the baby doll and keep the Chelsea doll for next year just do to space. It is a small bag. Then I will focus on the finger puppets, book tie ins, and play sets as the director for the project suggested those were the projects that would work best for the kids they service. I'll keep my dolls other than Chelsea for Aztec Wishes. I have my eye on another Three Little Pig set that would be perfect for this size donation.

Now back to this outfit.

I just purchased one more of her patterns for the Little Cutesies doll and several Amy Carrico baby doll patterns that I didn't have from Ravelry. I have some of their patterns on wish lists and then those patterns aren't offered for a bit. So, when I find them again I've been buying them. Just a side note as I seem to be wandering today.

Notes:

I have discovered Premier Yarns DK yarn and I plan on adding more to my stash for the baby doll projects. The contrast color is Caron Simply Soft Paint Rose Garden.

A note for future projects this project eats the contrast yarn. I used almost a 1/2 skein of Simply Soft Paints. Just something to consider when planning yarn needs for this next year.

This pattern is written in UK terms. While I can remember that a dc is a sc the htr always throws me and I find myself looking it up to discover it is the hdc. I was able to use the suggested e hook for everything except the first row of the panties which I needed to start with an I hook to get them to fit around the waist. I suggest swithching to an e hook for the remaining rows or the panties become too large. I switched at row 3 and had to make some reductions while sewing the crotch together.

I sewed a snap to close the back without thinking about it. In the future I'd finish the back and do the suggested neck ties.

I only found last year's yarn when I finished the project so I stuck with Herrschner's 2 Baby yarn but used the Castle color.

My guage has been all over the place lately so I needed a C hook to get this to fit where I've previously made it work with a B and this yarn.

For my own notes when checking gauge on this project make the bottoms first as this was the quickest way to determine if the yarn hook balance had been reached. When the shorts fit the halter top fit.

The sandals and the visor always have to be fiddled with to get them to work for me. I never write this and then think I must be having a bad year but it came to me as I was working this year that this has always been the case.

I wrote a note to increase the ties as they are tight. I increased to 40 and I'd go to 50 the next time as they are still short.
