Bonnie Bunny
Bonnie is the second bunny I made from the Cottontails Pattern I received when I purchased the kit from Mary Maxim here. Bonnie is made from worsted weight yarn and a g hook and as you can see from the picture below came out significantly bigger than Robbie.
I chose to continue in similar branded yarns for the clothes. I had to go up to an I hook to get the dress to fit in the back. However the shoes fit with a g hook. I also used a g for the bow. The eyes came with the kit and the nose from CRC Crafts.
I shortened the neck line and altered the body to avoid the bobble head issue I had with Robbie.

Royal Bunny Finger Puppets
I made these once before but I wasn't quite pleased with how they came out so I wanted another crack at them. You can find the free pattern here.
The changes:
I have had these sew on googly eyes for some time now but generally I've either used safety eyes for my ami's or sewn eyes. However for finger puppets saftey eyes are not an option. This project seemed the perfect chance to try out the googly eyes.
I used the ears from the Spring Finger Puppet pattern found here. They are made in one piece and much easier to sew on and I find they stay up better. I experimented with the arms sewing them long wise instead of in the round. The king's arms ended up being a better length I started with a chain 8 with sc in each stitch and dc in same place on end to make hand. The queen was an experiment and too long but we live and learn.
The crown was also an experiment. I followed the prescribed number of chain stitches and did a row of sc. For the next row I dc in first stitch skipped stitch slip stitch dc in next stitch and repeated around.
These are my personal notes as a backup should I lose my notes.

Crochet Eggster Bunny
It is wonderful to be part of a supportive online crochet group. When I started posting about my Easter projects a good friend posted a link to the free Crochet Eggster Bunny pattern which you too can find here. I already had another pattern in mind to make for the last ami for the Easter box. However, once I saw the Eggster Bunny there was no going back. It was definitely the choice for the last ami project.
You will clearly notice differences between my bunny and the pattern authors. First I am determined to finish off my stash yarn, so when I discovered I didn't have appropriate off white yarn, I went with white. I also wasn't crazy about the yolk colored accents, so I went with traditional pink. I had this ball of purple yarn I've been dying to finish off so it seemed like an ideal project to use it on and while it isn't finished I made a good dent. I chose not to stuff the feet. I found the balance was better with flat feet. It's always a choice you make when you create amis. Lastly, for the nose and the buttons I used size 10 crochet thread.
My egg just came out wider than I'd expected, but I loved it. The designer has a more rounded egg look, but I fell in love with my egg bunny. At some point I really want one for myself.
A thank you to the designer for her pattern. I was so impressed with the level of detail and the pictures included. I learned some new tricks, especially about embroidering the nose. I also appreciated the pictures about where to join and the up close pictures that let me count holes to make sure I knew where her pieces were located. It made putting the bunny together much easier.

Green Eyed Bunny
The Green Eyed Bunny is the last of the bunnies I made using Easter Bunny Gang pattern. I have had some cat ami eyes for ages and I decided to use up some green yarn that I had rolled into balls after completing another project. It all just came together. This guy almost didn't make it into the box. I need to make another one before Easter, as I've had a local request for one.
I have a bunny to finish for a magician's hat I'm making for an April birthday project. After that I should have time to squeeze another bunny in before Easter. Then I am hoping to finish another 70's outfit for an 18" doll before the May birthday box has to go out. It's busy but doable.
My swap box has reached CA so I am hoping to be able to post pictures of the items I made for that project soon, too.

Rainbow Bunny
Rainbow Bunny is the third of the Easter Bunny Gang I have finished so far. He is one of my favorites. Color changes were a bit challenging, but I liked the outcome. In honor of his rainbow theme, I decided to go with colored safety eyes instead of the solid black. The blue seemed to give him more life.
I have one more bunny to make and I'm not quite sure which direction to go yet. The fourth pattern is a combo of a couple of patterns. I am still deciding on what combinations I will use. I am not planning to follow the combos of the pattern.
Right now, I'm working on finishing up my ami swap projects. I have a bit of a theme going and I am hoping my swap partner will like the outcome.

Taxi Bunny
This is the second bunny I made using the Easter Bunny Gang pattern. I struggled to get the x's done correctly and while I was focused on doing two things at once I forgot to add the ami eyes before closing the bunny. Therefore, this bunny has the bug eyes. Since the children don't know what the bunnies are supposed to look like and the patterns are designed to mix and match, I am OK with my mistake. I do wish I could embroider better on top of the crochet, but having tried it several times and pulled it out, this is my best shot at it.

Sweetie Bunny
I was very fortunate to receive the Easter Bunny Gang from a very thoughtful Fairy Godmother as part of Crochetville's Wishlists. I started with Sweetie Bunny and I didn't quite get the white pattern the way I wanted it, I thought it was a great start. I love the hat that finishes off the outfit.
There are four different bunnies in this pattern although one repeats a pattern with different colors and a different style of eye. These work up quickly and are great additions for Easter baskets or just for fun ami's.
I have three finished and one more to do. I have to finish my amigurumi swap and then I can get back to my Easter box. They both have about the same deadline.

Crochet Bunny with Carrot House
What a difference a year makes. Last year I made the bunny and carrot house from Amigurumi Toy Box: Cute Crocheted Friends
I decided to make another one this year for the littlest member of the family I send the Easter box to each year. He was born after Easter last year, so the carrot house went to his next oldest brother who was the youngest child, then.
I changed a few things with this year's project. First I used the bunny from Crochet Bunny with Carrot Car instead of the bunny from the book. The only downside to this is the bunny is a little bit larger than the bunny in the book. It makes the house a tighter fit. I also changed the green trimmings from those in the book to those of the car. I just liked the look better. Lastly, I played with some colors to give the bunny some clothing. I used up some scraps I had for his shirt and stuck with traditional blue for his pants.

Crochet Bunny with Carrot Car
I was working through the patterns I wanted to crochet for Easter baskets and I remembered the Crochet Bunny Carrot Car I received as part of a Crochetville Wishlist. It is available for purchase here.
This is one of the cuter bunny patterns I have made and I actually used it as a substitute in another bunny project I will be blogging about this week. I love the ears. I added a safety nose, which the pattern does not use. I have to find a source for bunny noses. My supply is almost out as they were part of a swap gift. I have not seen any locally, I will have to search online.
I am thinking about making this into an icicle car and using a polar bear for a winter themed car for a winter toy. I have a relative with a December birthday and I am always trying to find non-Christmas themed toys to make for his birthday. Usually I am in a Christmas making mode, so if I start on it after Easter, I can put it away and have it ready.

Baked Potato
I had a request for crochet play food to put in Easter baskets this year so I pulled out a pattern I purchased with birthday money this year, Grilled Steak Dinner, which has an adorable baked potato pattern. I'm not sure if I'll get to the whole meal, but I will be back to work on this pattern for my Christmas donation. It was quick and something different from much of the play food I have seen.
I have another 18" doll outfit almost complete. I just need to finish the extra items. This one will be going to my niece for her Julie doll. She said she had outgrown the AG doll's and then her grandmother got her Julie for Christmas and they've been fast friends ever since. I have spliced together a couple of different patterns to make her an outfit. I need to finish the boots and the purse. I am also working my way slowly through a thread dress for my donation project. That has been really amazing. I never thought I'd work with thread and I am about half way through a dress.
I have another Easter project finished that I'll be posting next week and one more that I am almost finished with that is rather unique. I was gifted the pattern during Crochetville's holiday wishlist and it will be an adorable addition to my Easter baskets.

Girl Duck with Egg
This was my second attempt at the "Easter Eggs" pattern from the April 2011 Crochet World. Since there are two boys and a girl now it seemed appropriate to make the girl duck for the girl in the group. The duck pattern worked fine, but even moving up to an I hook the egg still was not large enough to hold the duck.
While the boy duck has a shirt and hat, the girl duck has a bib front dress that was fun to make. The original pattern called for foam balls, I decided to stuff my ducks. Knowing these were going to have some rough play, I thought the stuffing would last longer.
I also chose to use safety eyes instead of gluing wiggle eyes or sewing eyes to the project.

Duck with Orange Shirt and Egg
I love having my print copy of Crochet World, but access to the digital library makes downloading patterns so much easier. This pattern comes from Crochet World's April 2011 edition. The pattern is called "Easter Eggs." I downloaded a copy and put it in my holiday binders, only to come across it this year when I was looking for new Easter ideas.
While making this first one, I followed the pattern as written with the exception of the color. One of the box recipients is going through an orange phase, so I decided on an orange color scheme. Even following gauge, I found my egg was not big enough to hold the duck. However, while I could find a picture of the closed egg, I could not find a picture that actually demonstrated the duck would fit in the egg when it was closed. The example pictures looked more like a duck in a egg hoodie. I kept experimenting with my ducks and eggs until I got one to fit, but the egg at that point looked a bit oversized. However, the duck did fit. I will post pictures during the week.

Cowboy Easter Egg Chick
One of the people on my Easter list loves orange. So as I was looking through Crochet Village's Egghead pattern, I decided on an orange cowboy chick. I liked the hat so much I went on to use it for a duck pattern when I needed a third hat and the pattern I was using only had two options.
