Glitter Girl Swimsuit

Another doll checked off my list of swimsuits for 2025. This is a Wellie Wisher pattern that fits the Glitter Girl and can be purchased here.

Notes:

I used an e hook and size 3 thread for this project. The main color is thread art and the contrast is Lizbeth. For my own notes I can find Lizbeth at Handy Hands these days.

I do a row of sc around the legs to finish them as they have a rather raw edge when completed as written.

For no particular reason I left the visor out of this year's donation. I believe it comes from late night crocheting.

Glitter Girls Shortalls, Hat, and Shirt

This is the last outfit for the Glitter Girl doll for 2024. This was also another October finish. Everything but the shoes are from a Petite Creative Designs Pattern that can be purchased here. The shoes are from an Adoring Doll dress pattern that I use when I need shoes for a pattern that doesnt have any. You can purchase that pattern here.

The yarn for this is no longer available Red Heart Sport. The G hook was fine for the outfit but I'd use a much smaller hook and maybe go with a contrasting color in a lighter yarn for the hat as this came out a bit big.

I needed an e hook to get the shoes to fit.

Glitter Girl Ballerina

I've been pushing into my doll pattern binders this year to try to make sure I'm using the patterns I've purchased when ever possible. Some are still not realistic for my circumstances but many I just forget I have and it is time to branch out and try some different kinnds of items or sometimes visit patterns I either bought and forgot or haven't made in a while.

This is one of Adoring Doll's patterns that can be purchased here. It is a relative new comer to Glitter Girl's binder but since it isn't a huge folder I find myself not leaving much behind for ideas.

My one challenge with this outfit is I wish she'd gone with a lighter yarn, perhaps even thread as the worsted weight yarn is heavy for such a delicate doll and this type of outfit. The idea is adorable but it feels heavy.

I used Caron Pounder Lilac from my stash.

I needed a I hook to get the suit to fit. I changed to an H hook for the skirt and the straps.

I used a D hook for the slippers.

The headband was made using a g hook.

Glitter Girl Fun in the Sun

I purchased several of Little Bitty Boutique's patterns to make for the Glitter Girl donation. While designed for the Wellie Wisher Doll they are close enough that they work for the Glitter Girl doll as well.

The dress for this pattern is from her Fun in the Sun pattern that can be purchased here. The shoes have become my go to pattern for any Glitter Girl pattern without shoes and comes from an Adoring Doll pattern set that can be purchased here.

This was made with Bernat Big Ball Baby Sport Yarn Yellow and an F hook. I had a slightly odd back so I ended up using a snap rather than the suggested button.

The shoes were made with Red Heart Super Saver Lemon and an E hook. I'd try Herrschners Worsted 4 next time but I found the light yellow Red Heart first. I didn't think to check the lighter yarn first.

Glitter Girl Purple Dress

Adoring Doll Clothes has several patterns that are designed for both the 18 inch and the 14.5 inch dolls. While the Glitter Girl is listed at being 14 inches tall I've found that most of the patterns designed for the Wellie Wishers dolls seem to fit well. You can purchase this pattern here.

Notes:

The pattern is designed for summer white but I find keeping anything white clean that gets played with frequently is challenging. I use it as an accent color and I use it for the baby diapers but I rarely make a whole outfit in white just for this reason.

I'm not sure which brand of acrylic worsted this purple is as I pulled it from my left overs to be finished pile. It's a softer yarn so I'm thinking it may be I Love this Yarn but I would have no idea what color I'd be looking for if I wanted to make this again with this shade.

I used a G hook for the dress and an e hook for all the accessories.

For Row 2 of the dress I could only skip one stitch to get the count to come out correctly.

This was a nice quick project to make after the more detailed Cinderella dress I made for the My Life doll.
