Glitter Girl Drop Waist Dress
I keep trying to rotate through the dolls to make sure nobody leaves with a small donation wardrobe. This is one of Char Caywood's Wellie Wishers patterns that seem to fit the Glitter Girl dolls fairly well. You can purchase the pattern here.
Notes:
I originally discovered Lizbeth threads at Joann's but even back then the supply was limited. I discovered Handy Hands Tatting and this is really a note to myself to remember where to find it when I run out.
The variegated thread is size 3 Lizbeth Springtime. The blue size 3 from Threadart that I had left over from making Barbie's Prairie dress. The white is Aunt Lydia's Fashion 3.
I use a size e for the dress and underwear and I used a D for the shoes this time. I'm thinking a C would be worth a try as the shoes are still a little big.
The only minor changes I make to this pattern is I finish the back in variegated but follow the directions for using white at the top. I also finish the edges around the underwear. I just find its neater and less likely to snag.
The dress is closed with a snap at the back.

Glitter Girl Shorts, Shirt and Cap
This is one of Char's Wellie Wisher's patterns that I purchased recently here. I've found the Wellie Wishers patterns to be a good fit for the Glitter Girl doll without much need for adjustments.
This pattern calls for size 20 thread. For my own records so I know what I used and where to find it the Purple is Aunt Lydia's size 3 Fashion Crochet Thread in Purple. No idea where I purchased it but Aunt Lydias is a fairly common name so even for the odd size it has been easier to search and buy it online. I even occasionally find it locally. The Lizbeth is size 20 Scottish Thistle I found at Handy Hands. This is for my notes because I find something a specific fiber that suits a project and if it isn't from the place I normally shop I often forget where to go back for more.
This pattern has alterations to make different styles of this top, and versions of the shorts for capris and pants. It was one of the selling points of buying this pattern as I've struggled with separate options for the Glitter Girl. Most of the patterns I have for her are dresses. This widens my options for mix and match outfits.
I used the suggested e hook for this project. I might think about making the shoes with a D as they were slightly big. It is worth an experiment to see if I can get a better fit.

Glitter Girl Camping Outfit
This was one of those outfits that kept building as I was working on it for the Glitter Girl. I started by making Adoring Doll's sleeping bag as part of her camping pattern which can be purchased here. I don't make the camping accessories because I've been purchasing the Glitter Girl Campfire set when I can get it on sale for the donation.
The pattern also includes a shawl and headband and I thought they'd be fun to try. Having made them I realized I was far from an outfit so I kept looking for more pieces.
The pants are from another Adoring Doll Pattern found here. I hope to finish the complete outfit with a different colorered pants to give more options for mixing and matching before the donation deadline.
The sweater is from a Wellie Wisher three sleeve length pattern that can be purchased here. I had hoped to get a long sleeved sweater for the donation from this set but I couldn't get the sleeves to fit the arms so I went with the sleeveless option. If I hadn't been to the point of wanting to be done with the set I might have experimented with crocheting the sleeves on and trying to establish the pattern. It is an idea to try for the future but I needed this outfit to be done.
Notes:
Shawl: An f hook with worsted works for the Glitter Girl. Use an H hook accidently and you have a shawl for the 18" dolls.
Pants: G Hook worsted weight yarn. Add three rows to the waist before splitting for legs as the waist line was short for me.
Sweater: Knit Picks Pallete Yarn with a D hook. You will add rows to back before closing so don't panic if it is snugger than normal.

Glitter Girl Kennedy's Sweater Dress
I generally search for Wellie Wisher's crochet patterns to find something to fit the Glitter Girl doll. The dolls are close enough in size that I can generally make the patterns work.
Kennedy's Sweater Dress is the main pattern for this outfit and can be purchased here. The shoes are from and Adoring Dolls dress pattern I made previously that you can purchase here. I am lazy about shoes when I find a pattern that is easy to make and works up quickly it often appears in outfits that don't come with shoe patterns.
Notes:
I used the suggested f hook for this project.
Not having Yarn Bee Hint of Silk I used Herrschners Worsted Aquamarine. A note for myself I would consider ordering grey and other lighter colors duing my next Herrschners order for this dress and a couple of other outfits for next year. This pattern specifically requires a lighter color. I tried it with a dark blue and the texture gets lost and it becomes rather drab so I frogged it and went with aquamarine.
I only needed one button hole for the outfit.
I did add some rows to the skirt to get it to knee length.
I used an e hook for the shoes even with the lighter worsted.
It is time for the Glitter Girl Doll to get some pants so I plan to use one of Adoring Doll's patterns to solve this problem. I have a couple different options for tops but pants have been elusive. I think I have a summer shorts pattern I should tackle during the warmer weather as well.

Glitter Girl Seed Stitch Blanket
The doll blankets are usually my travel projects. I usually don't worry about the larger dolls getting blankets as I'm very fortunate to have donors who make doll blankets every year for the donation far more beautiful and creative than anything I make. However, I do try to make sure the smaller dolls that require different sized blankets get one. The Glitter Girl requires a smaller blanket. This blanket is an adaptation of Michelle Crean's larger seed stitch blanket I've been making as my travel project for the larger dolls. You can find the pattern here.
Notes: I used a starting chain of 40 for the smaller doll and worsted weight 4 baby yarn.

Glitter Girl Bathing Suit
While I have never found patterns specifically designed for the Glitter Girl dolls I've been fortunate to find dolls with about the same fit to send off a decent wardrobe for the donation.
This is actually a different swim suit pattern than the one I used last year. This is part of Adoring Doll's set for the male and female 18 inch dolls and the smaller 14.5 inch dolls. I posted about making the male doll's suit earlier. I'm hoping to finish the female suit for one of the My Life dolls. You can purchase the pattern here. The patterns are available individually if you only have interest in one of the dolls.
Notes:
I used a G hook for this project and followed the rest of the directions as listed.
I'm slowly working my way through the bathing suits and am hoping every doll will leave with one.

Glitter Girl Hannah Carrot
I've been trying to rotate through the dolls to make sure they all are dressed before November. The Glitter Girl Doll still had no clothes so it was time to put something in her donation bag.
This pattern is available for purchase here. This can be an Easter or Spring gardening set depedning on your interests. I plan on making a second set using the pants as a skirt as I found the pattern worked up well and I wanted to increase the number of outfits going out with the Glitter Girl this year.
Notes:
I always ending up changing my hook size for this designer so for all items except the pants I used a G hook.
I went with an I for the pants.
Since I intend to use this pattern for future pants items I'm actually planning to go back to the g hook and just increasing the original waist chain and then splitting evenly for the legs as I found the original waist line too small for this doll while the other items fit perfectly with my normal adjustment for hook size. While the I hook worked the pants "look" baggy. I will note the chain lenghth on a future post when I figure it out. I also plan on using this as a skirt set.
This was a great scrap project. Much of this was yarn left over from a baby blanket kit. The pink was part of a yarn ball bag I've been keeping to finish off left over yarn before starting on new skeins.

Glitter Girl Selena Dress
When I wanted to add a doll to the donation this year I went with a Glitter Girl doll because I wanted a different sized doll that I could find crochet patterns close enough to adapt.
After doing some research I discovered that the American Girl Wellie Wishers Doll was fairly close in size to the Glitter Girl doll and when I started practicing with free patterns and found they fit I felt confident in moving on to buying patterns designed for the Wellie Wishers doll.
This pattern is Little Abbee's Selena Dress pattern and can be purchased here.
I used Knit Picks Palette Yarn that I replaced during one of their sales after I finished off my ancient supply making doll clothes. I started with an F hook and switched to an E hook. As I mentioned I've had a weird guage lately and this doll is not terribly forgiving when putting clothes on and off so I wanted to make it an easy fit without looking bulky.
For the closing in the back I went with a snap over buttons.
